    산업부, 한국판 뉴딜 컨트롤타워 가동한다
    산업부, 한국판 뉴딜 컨트롤타워 가동한다 산업통상자원부(장관 성윤모)가 ‘한국판 뉴딜 종합계획’(7.14)의 후속조치를 위한 컨트롤타워로 ‘산업·에너지 한국판 뉴딜 추진단’을 발족하고 본격적인 뉴딜 대책 이행에 착수했다.산업부는 정승일 산업부 차관 주재로 진행된 1차 회의에서 ‘한국판 뉴딜 종합계획’ 중 산업·에너지 분야의 추진체계 구축과 조기성과 창출을 위한 추진전략에 대해 논의했다고 밝혔다.정부는 앞서 14일 160조원 규모의 ‘한국판 뉴딜 종합계획’을 발표하고, △디지털 뉴딜 △그린 뉴딜 △고용·사회적 안전망 강화 등 3대 분야 28개 과제, 10대 대표과제를 제시한 바 있다.산업부는 한국판 뉴딜 종합계획에 포함된 산업부 담당 정책 및 사업의 체계적 추진을 위해 차관을 단장으로 하는 ‘산업·에너지 한국판 뉴딜 추진단’을 설치한다.10대 대표과제 중 산업부가 주도하는 그린에너지, 스마트·그린 산단, 친환경 미래 모빌리티 등 3개 그린뉴딜 과제의 차질없는 이행을 위해 추진단 내에 과제별 전담팀을 구성하고, 디지털 뉴딜과 관련해서는 제조업의 디지털 전환 가속화를 위해 산업지능화 추진팀을 추가로 설치하기로 했다.4개팀은 각각 담당 실장급이 총괄, 뉴딜 대책을 속도감 있게 이행하고, 국민이 체감할 수 있는 성과를 창출할 예정이다.향후 추진단은 예산확보 및 집행, 성과사업 발굴 등 한국판 뉴딜 대책의 이행현황을 점검·관리하고, 추진전략을 논의해 나갈 계획이다.아울러, 산업부 담당부서 뿐만 아니라 산업단지공단, 한국에너지공단, 자동차연구원, 산업기술진흥원 등 다양한 분야별 지원기관도 참여, 뉴딜사업을 내실화 하는 한편 ‘그린뉴딜 정책포럼’도 출범시킬 예정이다. ▲ 산업부 한국판 뉴딜 추진단 구성(안).그린뉴딜 정책포럼은 신재생에너지, 친환경수송, 에너지 디지털화 등 분야별 전문가 포럼을 시리즈를 열어 그린뉴딜 발전 방안을 심도 있게 논의해나갈 방침이다.정승일 산업부 차관은 “코로나19로 인해 우리경제의 미래 불확실성이 증가하고 산업구조 변화가 가속화되고 있다”며 “산업구조 혁신과 산업 생태계의 경쟁력 강화를 위해 한국판 뉴딜을 통한 산업 생태계 디지털 전환 및 그린 전환을 강력하게 추진하겠다”는 의지를 밝혔다.이어 “한국판 뉴딜이 기업의 투자와 혁신을 유도하는 마중물이 돼 일자리 창출과 신속한 경제회복에 기여하게 될 것”이라고 강조했다.

    [속보] 모더나 "코로나19 백신 초기 임상시험서 전원 항체반응" 미국 제약사 모더나가 코로나19 백신 개발을 위한 초기 임상 시험에서 실험 대상자 전원에게서 항체를 형성하는 데 성공했다고 밝혔다고 로이터통신이 보도했다. 의학저널인 뉴잉글랜드저널오브메디슨에 공개된 이번 시험 결과에 따르면 지원자 중 심각한 부작용을 호소한 사람은 없었다.다만 약물을 2차 투여받거나 많은 양의 투여를 받은 대상을 중심으로 절반 이상이 피로감과 두통, 오한, 근육통 등 경미한 반응을 보였다. 모더나는 지난 3월 16일 세계 최초로 사람에게 코로나19 백신 약물을 투여하는 임상 시험에 돌입해 현재 의약품 출시 막바지 단계에 해당하는 3상을 앞두고 있다. 반면 WTO는 3개월 이내만 효과 있을뿐 이라고 부정적 의견을 발표한바 있다.

Employees face a Wednesday deadline whether to participate in a voluntary incentive program to leave the airline. “Although furloughs and layoffs remain our very last resort, we can’t rule them out as a possibility obviously in this very bad environment,” Kelly said in a message to employees. “We need a significant recovery by the end of this year — and that’s roughly triple the number of passengers from where we are today.” Kelly added that the “recent rise in COVID cases and increasing regional restrictions on businesses and states requiring quarantine aren’t positive developments for our business, and we are concerned about the impact on already weak travel demand.” Airlines are grappling with overstaffing as they decide whether to further limit passengers on flights. JetBlue Airways said Monday it will extend blocking middle seats on larger airplanes and aisle seats on smaller aircraft for flights through Sept. 8 in response to COVID-19. Other airlines, like American Airlines are again booking flights to capacity. Last week, United Airlines said it was preparing to send notices of potential furloughs to 36,000 US-based frontline employees, or about 45 percent of staff, as travel demand hit by the coronavirus pandemic struggles to recover. Not everyone who receives a notification will be furloughed, United said. Furloughs would begin Oct. 1, when a government-imposed ban on forced job cuts by airlines that accepted billions of dollars in federal assistance expires.     [단독외신] China to sanction Lockheed Martin over Taiwan arms sales China will impose sanctions on US defense contractor Lockheed Martin over its involvement in arms sales to Taiwan, it announced Tuesday. “China firmly opposes US arms sales to Taiwan. We will impose sanctions on the main contractor of this arms sale, Lockheed Martin,” Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Zhao Lijian said in a press conference without elaborating further. Last week, the State Department approved a $620 million deal to sell the Democratic island upgraded parts for its Patriot surface-to-air missiles. At the time, the department said in a statement, “This proposed sale serves U.S. national, economic, and security interests by supporting the recipient’s continuing efforts to modernize its armed forces and to maintain a credible defensive capability.” China opposed this and previous sales because of their staunch rivalry with Taiwan. The Communist nation views Taiwan as a rogue province and publicly argues it should not be afforded the rights granted to sovereign states. China also maintains that Taiwan must one day be reunited with the mainland as an inalienable part of their territory. While the US has no official diplomatic ties with Taiwan, relations have increased in recent months, thanks especially to China facing a wave of scrutiny as a result of the coronavirus pandemic. The US Senate unanimously approved a bill in late May calling on the State Department to develop and submit a plan to help Taiwan regain its World Health Organization status. US rejects Beijing's claim to South China Sea, deepens Chinese anger The legislation, co-sponsored by Sens. Jim Inhofe (R-Iowa) and Bob Menendez (D-NJ), also called on Secretary of State Mike Pompeo to report to Congress any actions taken by the US to boost Taiwan’s global relationships diplomatically. The bill’s passage came following a considerable lobbying campaign waged by Taiwan. Pompeo has also touted Taiwan’s response to the pandemic, calling the country a reliable partner back in May. “We have a shared vision for the region — one that includes rule of law, transparency, prosperity, and security for all,” Pompeo said in a statement at the time. “The recent Covid-19 pandemic provided an opportunity for the international community to see why Taiwan’s pandemic-response model is worthy of emulation.”
